This tutorial is structured around the idea of the data life cycle.

The stages we will discuss are:

  * plan - self explanatory
  * collect - data acquisition
  * assure - quality assurance, cross-checking, pre-processing, data selection
  * describe - annotation, metadata, lab notebooks
  * preserve - long-term storage
  * analyze/integrate/discover - data analysis
